Digital Downloads

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms explain the use of RiE-Store digital guides and the arrangements for purchasing and downloading them. They are separate from our vehicle restoration terms. Browse available titles in Workshop Guides.

1. About us and your purchase

RiE-Store Ltd creates and publishes the guides. Our company number is 8128617 and our registered office is 41b Beach Road, Littlehampton, West Sussex BN17 5JA. Contact stuart@rie-store.com for purchase or content enquiries.

Purchases are processed through Payhip. Its checkout identifies the contractual arrangements for the transaction and any applicable platform terms. Payhip’s published End User Licence describes Payhip Limited as the supplier of the digital content under that contract. Our permissions below explain how you may use our material; they do not remove your statutory rights or replace applicable checkout terms.

2. What you are buying

You are purchasing a licence to use a digital file, not a printed publication or a vehicle-specific inspection, diagnosis or repair service. Each product description identifies its subject, file format, language and any particular software or compatibility requirements. Please check these before ordering and contact us if you are unsure whether a guide covers your vehicle or task.

Unless the product description expressly includes them, a purchase does not include future editions, subscriptions or individual technical assistance. This does not affect any update or remedy required by law.

3. Prices and payment

Prices shown to consumers for digital downloads include applicable VAT. The total payable and currency are shown before you place the order. Payment is taken through the payment methods available at checkout. Your bank or payment provider may apply its own currency conversion charges where relevant.

4. Receiving your download

Following successful payment, Payhip provides access to the purchased file and sends download information to the email address supplied at checkout. Enter your email address carefully and check your junk folder if the message does not arrive. Contact us with your order reference and purchasing email address if you cannot access the file; never send us your card details or password.

Save a copy securely after downloading. We do not promise indefinite hosting of a download link. This does not limit your rights if the content is not supplied, cannot be accessed as agreed, or has a fault.

5. Your licence to use the guide

As the copyright holder, RiE-Store permits the purchaser to use the guide for personal reference and for their own work in their workshop business. You may save backup copies on devices you control and print a copy for your own reference. Purchasing a guide does not transfer copyright.

This permission is for one user. It does not permit sharing the file or download link with colleagues, customers or other people, uploading it to a shared drive or public website, distributing printed copies, reselling it or republishing its contents. Contact us if you need permission for several users, training materials or another use. These restrictions do not prevent uses permitted by copyright law.

6. Using technical information safely

Our guides share workshop knowledge for the vehicles and subjects described. Classic vehicles vary in specification, condition and previous modifications. Check that a procedure, part or setting is suitable for the actual vehicle before applying it, and consult relevant manufacturer information where available.

Use appropriate tools, protective equipment and safe working methods. If you do not have the necessary knowledge or competence, obtain qualified assistance, particularly for safety-critical work. A guide cannot inspect your vehicle or establish its roadworthiness.

These practical precautions do not exclude responsibility for defective content or limit rights and liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

7. Immediate supply and cancellation

Consumers normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel an online digital-content purchase. If you want supply to begin during that period, you must expressly consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you will lose that cancellation right once supply begins. The required confirmation must also be provided to you in a form you can keep.

Once supply has begun with those requirements satisfied, we do not offer an additional change-of-mind refund. Merely reading this page or accepting general terms does not itself satisfy those requirements. If supply has not begun, or the legal requirements for losing the cancellation right have not been met, your cancellation rights remain as provided by law.

To exercise an applicable cancellation right, send a clear statement to stuart@rie-store.com, identifying your order. You may use the form below but do not have to. We will help arrange the request through Payhip where necessary. Where the statutory right applies, reimbursement must be made within 14 days after the trader is informed of cancellation, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a cancellation fee.

8. Faulty, missing or incorrectly described content

Your legal rights are separate from change-of-mind cancellation. Digital content supplied to a UK consumer must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described. If a file is corrupted, incomplete, the wrong item, or otherwise fails to meet those requirements, contact us with the order details and a description of the problem.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to repair or replacement, or a price reduction which can be the full price. A required repair or replacement must be provided within a reasonable time, without significant inconvenience and at no cost to you. Rights relating to a failure to supply content or damage to your device or other digital content also remain unaffected. Nothing on this page makes statutory remedies discretionary.

9. Personal information and newsletters

See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information and Payhip’s privacy information for its checkout service. Buying a guide does not automatically subscribe you to The Workshop Companion. Newsletter choices are separate from purchase and download permissions.

10. Changes and applicable law

Changes to these terms apply to future purchases and do not retrospectively reduce the rights attached to an existing order. Our terms and permissions are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction that applicable law provides. Payhip’s contractual terms apply separately to its services, subject to mandatory consumer protections.

11. Optional cancellation form

Complete and send this only if you wish to cancel and have a right to do so. Send it to RiE-Store Ltd, Unit 50 The Vinery, Arundel Road, Poling, West Sussex BN18 9PY, or stuart@rie-store.com. Where Payhip is the contracting supplier, we will help direct your request to it.
